Description
Mobil ATF 3309 is a fluid in the Mobil ATF range for automatic transmissions whose torque-converter lock-up clutch operates with controlled slip. Its friction properties prevent clutch shudder.
The fluid holds no official approvals. It meets Ford WSS-M2C924-A; for JWS 3309, GM 9986195, VW G 055 025 A2 and Toyota T-IV applications (topping up in service), ExxonMobil recommends it.
Typical figures: 7.1 mm²/s at 100 °C, 33 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 181, pour point below -45 °C, Brookfield viscosity at -40 °C 13,000 mPa·s.
Application
Automatic transmissions with a slip-controlled torque-converter lock-up clutch where JWS 3309 or GM 9986195 is required; also topping up where Toyota T-IV or T-III fluids are specified.
