Description
BP Autran DX II is a fluid from the Autran line for older-generation automatic gearboxes and for power steering systems where the vehicle maker specifies a Dexron II or Mercon level.
It carries no official carmaker approvals; the maker states that it meets the requirements of GM Dexron II-D.
Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 7.29 mm²/s at 100 °C and 36.5 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 169, pour point -57 °C, flash point 224 °C. The fluid is red.
It is not intended for modern automatic gearboxes that call for newer specifications: its niche is older General Motors units and power steering.
Application
Older-generation General Motors automatic gearboxes and the power steering systems of many makes where a Dexron II or Mercon-level fluid is specified.
