Description

Shell Spirax S3 AX 80W-90 is a universal Spirax gear oil for axles and gearboxes: moderately and heavily loaded differentials and hypoid gears in motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, and construction and agricultural machinery, plus auxiliary and some industrial gear units.

The oil is rated API GL-5 and MT-1, meets the MIL-L-2105D specification and holds the approvals DTFR 12B130, MAN 342 Type M2 and ZF TE-ML 05A, ZF TE-ML 12E, ZF TE-ML 16C, ZF TE-ML 17B, ZF TE-ML 19B and ZF TE-ML 21A. It also meets DTFR 12B100 without formal approval.

Typical figures: 16.8 mm²/s at 100 °C, pour point -30 °C.

It replaces GL-5 oils of grades SAE 80W, SAE 90 and 80W-90 and suits extended drain intervals.

Application

Moderately and heavily loaded differentials, gearboxes and hypoid gears in motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, plus auxiliary and some industrial gear units.
