Mobil plant in Turkey You could argue for a long time about whether there is a difference in quality between Mobil motor oils made in Finland, Turkey and France, but the concern's standards remain the same across the board, so formally the quality is one and the same.

That said, given the "European" orientation of the French-made oils and the strict (and genuinely enforced) consumer-protection laws in the EU, one could assume that the odds of deviating from the production process and using additives of dubious quality are somewhat lower at Exxon Mobil's plant in Gravenchon than in Turkey or Finland, which are geared toward the far less protected consumers of the CIS.

Even so, none of this gives any grounds to claim that Mobil oils of Turkish or Finnish origin are of inferior quality or could harm an engine. What you need to avoid isn't the output of some particular Exxon Mobil plant — it's outright counterfeits. And given the decades-long popularity of Mobil oils, unfortunately there is a huge amount of oil counterfeited under this brand's label on CIS markets.
