ARAL's new engine oil packaging According to Aral's official website, lubricants under this brand are produced at only two plants: the refinery at Salzbergen (Germany, the main production site), and the plant at Hamburg (Germany, where Aral automotive oils have been produced since 2005).

Most of Aral's synthetic engine oils are made on a polyalphaolefin (PAO) base. These are unquestionably quality oils.

To guarantee product quality, the Aral group sticks to three principles in producing engine oils and lubricants:

  1. One product — one plant. There is no Aral engine oil produced at two plants at once.
  2. No licensing, no joint production, and so on. All Aral products found on the market are made at the two group plants mentioned above and nowhere else.
  3. No separate production line for export. All Aral automotive oils are of the same quality, whether sold within Germany or shipped for export to practically every country in the world. The packaging is identical too.

So, if you want to buy genuine quality Aral automotive oil, your only real challenge is finding oil that's actually ARAL and not a fake. Incidentally, Aral's official representative offices often have their own retail or small-wholesale divisions, so you can often buy Aral oil "straight from the source."
