Don't forget to get the suspension checked!

Modern cars generally have good sound insulation, so if you don't hear any knocking, that doesn't necessarily mean the suspension is fine. Every time you go to a service station for an oil change, ask for a thorough inspection of the suspension as well. This will, of course, raise the cost of the service, but it will protect you from unexpected situations on the road and help you avoid extra costs from complex repairs down the line.
