There are only two causes of oil consumption: the oil either burns off in the cylinder block along with the fuel, or it leaks out of the engine. A leak is fairly easy to fix. Diagnosing and treating oil burn-off is a somewhat trickier matter. As a starting point, you can try filling up with the highest-viscosity engine oil the engine manufacturer allows and replacing the valve seals.
