Description

Castrol CRB Multi 15W-40 CH-4 is a general-purpose oil for older-generation diesel engines, both naturally aspirated and turbocharged, in trucks, tractors, vans and 4x4s. Castrol lists it among the products of the CRB range.

The only specification on the data sheet is API CH-4; no vehicle-maker approvals are given for it.

Typical figures: 14.4 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 133, base number 7.9 mg KOH/g, pour point -42 °C. With sulphated ash of 1.19 % it is a full-SAPS oil and is not suitable for engines that require a low-ash oil.

Application

Older-generation naturally aspirated and single- or twin-turbo diesel engines in trucks, tractors, vans and 4x4s where API CH-4 or an earlier API diesel category is specified.
