Description

Shell Advance AX7 10W-40 (SM/MA2) is a part-synthetic oil from the Advance line for high-performance four-stroke motorcycle engines, air- or liquid-cooled. Its base blends synthetic and mineral components, and a single oil lubricates both the engine and the integral gearbox with its wet clutch.

The oil is rated API SM and JASO MA2; the MA2 class stands for friction properties that let a wet clutch work without slipping. The data sheet lists no official approvals from motorcycle manufacturers.

Typical figures: 14.3 mm²/s at 100 °C, 89 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 167, pour point -33 °C, flash point 230 °C, density 858 kg/m³.
