Ford Explorer The midsize SUV Ford Explorer earned the title "American Dream" for good reason. This car's new model, like the ones before it, first of all impresses with its interior volume and functionality. The cabin easily seats 7 people, driver included. If needed, the rear row folds down, expanding the boot to practically incredible size. A great illustration of that boot volume: an ordinary motorcycle fits into the Explorer's reconfigured boot.

The main dashboard elements, while more innovative now, have still kept their traditional feel, much like the new models from Nissan, one of Ford's main rivals. In this model, everything is thought through for the driver's convenience: a new power-assisted steering system, a control that shifts the pedal angle position. And gears can now be shifted with the press of a button thanks to new servo drives, instead of the usual lever.

The engineers behind the new Ford paid just as much attention to the car's safety as Opel, known for its love of comfort and safety. This car's new trim level uses modern stability systems — AdvanceTrac and RSC. And there's another new feature: inflatable curtain airbags that can slip between the glass and the head of a dozing passenger. The body structure is engineered so that in a crash, the cabin space stays intact. According to tests run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US, this model received the highest score. Can every carmaker boast a result like that?

As long as the drive goes normally, the engine turns only the rear wheels, but the moment they start to slip, the front wheels engage automatically. The Explorer's transmission stands apart from other SUVs (Kia and Mazda) in its ability to switch to front-wheel drive in emergency situations. Thanks to this, a driver of the new model who hits a skid on an icy road will be able to keep the car under control.

The manufacturer gives the Ford Explorer a factory warranty of 2 years or 100,000 km. How often servicing is due is usually stated by the seller in the car's service card.

The Ford Explorer is built for active people who like traveling with friends. The cabin is equipped with every passenger need in mind, fitted with plenty of different shelves and storage boxes. On top of that, you can order VIP seats with an armrest for the second row, since comfort is simply essential if you travel often.
