Description

Castrol TRANSMAX Manual Transaxle 75W-90 is a fully synthetic gear oil from the TRANSMAX line for front-wheel-drive cars in which the manual gearbox and the final drive sit in a single housing.

The oil is rated API GL-4 Plus: its extreme-pressure properties are higher than those of a standard GL-4 oil, which matters for a heavily loaded final drive. It holds the official VW 501.50 approval, so it is also used in VW Group units with that requirement.

Typical figures: 14.63 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 198, pour point -51 °C, flash point 218 °C.

Application

Front-wheel-drive transaxles, where the gearbox and final drive share a housing and need more extreme-pressure protection than a standard GL-4 oil gives, including VW Group units that require VW 501.50.
