Description

Mobil 10W-40 is a multigrade engine oil for petrol and diesel engines in cars, light trucks and vans. The data sheet does not state the base oil type.

The oil is rated API SN Plus, SN, SM, SL and SJ. It carries no car-maker approvals: where ACEA A3/B3 or MB 229.1 is specified, ExxonMobil recommends it, but without certification.

Typical figures: 13.3 mm²/s at 100 °C, 89.3 mm²/s at 40 °C, HTHS 3.6 mPa·s, sulphated ash 1 %, pour point -39 °C, flash point 232 °C.

Application

Cars, light trucks and vans with petrol and diesel engines where the maker specifies API SN Plus or one of the earlier API S categories.
