Description
Shell Spirax S3 ATF MD3 is a mineral Spirax fluid for automatic transmissions in cars and heavy vehicles. It is also suitable for power steering and for some hydraulic systems of grades ISO VG 32-68.
No formal approvals are listed for the fluid; it meets the requirements of GM Dexron III, GM Dexron III-G, GM Dexron III-H, Ford MERCON and Allison C-4.
Typical figures: 7.3 mm²/s at 100 °C, 33.8 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 175, pour point -48 °C, flash point 180 °C, density 864 kg/m³. The fluid is dyed red.
It is not for transmissions that require Dexron VI, Mercon V, Mercon SP or Mercon LV.
Application
Automatic transmissions in cars and heavy vehicles, power steering and some hydraulic systems (ISO VG 32-68) where the maker specifies Dexron III, Mercon or Allison C-4.
