Description

Eni i-Sigma performance CI HBN 15W-40 is a high-base-number mineral engine oil from the i-Sigma performance line. Its main use is in turbocharged diesels under severe conditions and on extended drain intervals; it also suits naturally aspirated engines in urban and suburban fleets and turbodiesel cars.

The oil is rated ACEA E7, E5, E3 and B3 and API CI-4 and SL. The list contains no official approvals: the maker states that it meets the requirements of MAN M 3275-1, MB 228.3, MTU Oil Category 2 and Volvo VDS-3.

Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 13.5 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 141, base number 12.5 mg KOH/g, pour point -27 °C.

Application

Turbocharged diesel engines in severe service with extended drain intervals where a high base number is needed; also naturally aspirated diesels in urban and suburban fleets and turbodiesel cars.
