Description
BP Energear 85W-140 is a high-viscosity gear oil from the Energear line for heavily loaded spur, bevel and helical gears and for synchromesh manual gearboxes.
It is rated API GL-4 and carries no official carmaker approvals. The maker notes that it is compatible with common seal materials and metals.
Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 26.5 mm²/s at 100 °C and 365 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 97, pour point -30 °C, flash point 256 °C.
