Description
BP Energear Axle 85W-140 is a heavy hypoid oil from the Energear line for axles and differentials, transaxles and gearboxes in trucks, vans and cars. In the cold it flows more readily than a monograde oil of the same viscosity at operating temperature.
It is rated API GL-5 and carries no official carmaker approvals.
Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 25.8 mm²/s at 100 °C and 380 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 100, density 902 kg/m³. Brookfield viscosity at -12 °C does not exceed 150,000 mPa·s. The data come from the data sheet for the Middle East market.
