Description

Shell Helix Ultra A5/B5 0W-30 is a fully synthetic low-viscosity oil for petrol, diesel and gas car engines. It is used where the car maker specifies a 0W-30 to ACEA A5/B5, as in certain Volvo models. Biodiesel and petrol-ethanol blends are permitted.

The oil is rated ACEA A5/B5 and API SL; the maker lists no individual car-maker approvals.

Typical figures: 10.50 mm²/s at 100 °C, 57.11 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 179, pour point -60 °C, flash point 234 °C.

The A5/B5 category allows a lower high-temperature high-shear viscosity (HTHS) for fuel economy, so the oil should go only into engines whose maker permits it.

Application

Petrol, diesel and gas engines in cars where the manufacturer specifies a 0W-30 oil to ACEA A5/B5, including certain Volvo models.
