Description

Shell Spirax S2 ALS 90 is a friction-modified Spirax gear oil of viscosity grade SAE 90 for axles with limited-slip differentials. It is used in buses, construction machines and cars, and in other loaded gear drives that accept a friction-modified hypoid oil.

The oil is rated API GL-5 Limited Slip. No vehicle-maker approvals are listed for it.

Typical figures: 15 mm²/s at 100 °C, 155 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 96, pour point -18 °C, flash point 210 °C, density 909 kg/m³.

Application

Axles with limited-slip differentials in heavy vehicles such as buses and construction machines, and in cars; also other loaded gear drives that accept a friction-modified hypoid oil.
