Description

Shell Spirax S3 G 80W is a long-life mineral Spirax gear oil for synchromesh manual gearboxes in trucks and for moderately loaded axles from MAN, ZF and other makers.

The oil is rated API GL-4 and holds the approvals MAN 341 Type E2, MAN 341 Type Z2, ZF TE-ML 02B and ZF TE-ML 17A. The maker states an extended drain interval.

Typical figures: 9.5 mm²/s at 100 °C, 78 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 99, pour point -33 °C, flash point 210 °C, density 885 kg/m³.

According to Shell, the oil is not suitable for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and is not used where DTFR 13B170 is required.
