Description
BP Vanellus C3 Mono 40 is a single-grade engine oil from the Vanellus line for heavy-duty diesel engines in commercial vehicles and machinery. BP also intends it for hydraulic circuits and gearboxes where an SAE 40 diesel engine oil is specified.
It is classified to API CF for diesel engines and API SF for petrol engines; the data sheet lists no official vehicle manufacturer approvals.
Typical figures from the data sheet: kinematic viscosity 13.5 mm²/s at 100 °C and 129 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 100, pour point -33 °C, flash point 216 °C, base number 9.5 mg KOH/g, sulphated ash 1.27 %.
