Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-40 A/B

Description

Castrol MAGNATEC 10W-40 A/B is an engine oil from the MAGNATEC line for petrol and diesel car engines without a particulate filter. It is aimed at older and high-mileage engines for which the maker permits a 10W-40 viscosity.

The oil is rated ACEA A3/B4 and API SP. It holds official Renault RN0700, Renault RN0710, VW 501.01 and VW 505.00 approvals. It meets the requirements of Fiat 9.55535-D2 without formal approval, and the maker itself claims suitability for MB 226.5 and MB 229.3.

Typical figures: 14.01 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 153, pour point -36 °C, flash point 235 °C, sulphated ash 1.1 %.
