Description

Shell Rimula R5 M 10W-40 is a synthetic Rimula engine oil for truck diesel engines, designed for extended drain intervals.

The oil is rated ACEA E4 and holds official DTFR 15B120 and MAN M 3277 approvals; it meets the requirements of Iveco T3 E4 without a formal approval.

Typical figures: 13.4 mm²/s at 100 °C, 89 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 152, pour point -42 °C, flash point 220 °C, density 867 kg/m³.

Shell does not recommend this oil for engines with a diesel particulate filter and points instead to Rimula R6 LM or R6 LME.

Application

Diesel engines in Mercedes-Benz, MAN and other European trucks built to Euro 2, Euro 3 and some Euro 4 limits, on extended drain intervals.
