Description
Shell Rimula R5 E 10W-40 is a fuel-economy diesel oil from the Rimula line for on-road and off-road Euro 2/3 engines in severe service, with easier cold starting claimed.
The oil is rated API CI-4, CH-4, ACEA E7, E5, E3 and Global DHD-1 and holds official approvals Cummins CES 20071, Cummins CES 20072, Cummins CES 20076, Cummins CES 20077, Cummins CES 20078, Deutz DQC III-18, DTFR 15B110, Mack EO-M, Mack EO-M Plus, Renault Trucks RLD-2 and Volvo VDS-3, and meets MAN M 3275-1 without approval.
Typical figures: 14.2 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 150, base number 10 mg KOH/g, sulphated ash 1.2 %.
With a particulate filter, the maker recommends Rimula R6 LM or R6 LME.
Application
Euro 2/3 diesels in on-road and off-road equipment under severe operating conditions; biodiesel is permitted on the equipment maker's intervals.
