Description
Shell Rimula R7 AD 5W-30 is a fully synthetic oil from the Rimula line with a low HTHS viscosity for fuel economy. It is intended for the latest Mercedes-Benz Euro 6 truck and bus engines (OM 470, 471, 473, 934, 936) that need an FA-4 oil.
The oil is rated API FA-4 and SN and holds official approvals MB 228.61, DDC DFS 93K223 and Cummins CES 20087.
Typical figures: 10 mm²/s at 100 °C, HTHS 2.9 mPa·s, sulphated ash 0.98 %, pour point -51 °C, flash point 236 °C.
The FA-4 class is not backward compatible, so this oil must not be used in older engines.
Application
Latest Mercedes-Benz Euro 6 truck and bus engines (OM 470, 471, 473, 934, 936) that specify an FA-4 oil; not for older engines.
