Description

Motul 8100 ECO-LITE 5W-20 is a fully synthetic fuel-saving engine oil from the 8100 range for petrol engines designed for low-HTHS oils. It protects against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI).

The oil is rated API SQ RC and ILSAC GF-7A. It holds no formal approvals: the maker states that it meets the requirements of Ford WSS-M2C945-A, Ford WSS-M2C945-B1, Ford WSS-M2C930-A, Ford WSS-M2C960-A1, GM dexos1 Gen 2, Chrysler MS-6395 and Fiat 9.55535-CR1.

Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 8.5 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 170, HTHS viscosity 2.6 mPa·s, pour point -42 °C, sulphated ash 0.85 %. Available in 1, 5 and 208 litre packs.

Application

Petrol engines designed for low-HTHS oils, typically Ford EcoBoost and Asian engines for which 5W-20 is specified.
