Description

Shell Helix HX7 5W-30 is a semi-synthetic oil from the Helix HX7 line, blended from synthetic and mineral base oils. It is intended for the everyday running of car petrol, diesel and gas-fuelled engines, and the maker allows its use with biodiesel and petrol/ethanol blends.

The oil is rated API SL, SN and ACEA A3/B4 and holds official VW 502.00 and VW 505.00 approvals. It meets the requirements of MB 229.3 without formal approval.

Typical figures: 11.8 mm²/s at 100 °C, 66.7 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 168, pour point -48 °C, flash point 238 °C.

As a full-SAPS A3/B4 oil, it is not intended for diesels fitted with a particulate filter.

Application

Petrol, diesel (without a particulate filter) and gas-fuelled car engines in everyday use; biodiesel and petrol/ethanol blends allowed.
