Shell Helix HX7 5W-40

Description

Shell Helix HX7 5W-40 is a semi-synthetic oil from the Helix HX7 line, blended from synthetic and mineral base oils. It suits everyday car petrol, diesel and gas-fuelled engines, turbocharged direct-injection petrol units included; the maker claims LSPI protection.

The oil is rated API SP and ACEA A3/B4 and holds official VW 502.00 and VW 505.00 approvals. It meets the requirements of MB 229.3, Renault RN0700, Renault RN0710 and Fiat 9.55535-M2 without formal approval.

Typical figures: 14.8 mm²/s at 100 °C, 89.2 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 174, pour point -51 °C, flash point 232 °C.

As a full-SAPS A3/B4 oil, it is not intended for diesels fitted with a particulate filter.
