Description

Motul 8100 POWER 5W-30 is a fully synthetic engine oil from the 8100 line, blended with esters in a formulation the maker derives from its motorsport oils. It is intended for tuned and powerful petrol and diesel car engines that regularly run at high revs and under heavy load.

The oil is rated API SP; the data sheet lists no car-maker approvals.

Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 10.8 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 160, HTHS 3.2 mPa·s, pour point -45 °C, flash point 248 °C, sulphated ash 0.84 %. Available in 1 to 60 litres.

It is designed for spirited road driving and track days rather than for extended manufacturer service intervals.

Application

Tuned and highly uprated petrol and diesel cars run across a wide range of revs and temperatures, including occasional track days, where an API SP 5W-30 oil is acceptable for the engine.
