Description
Shell Rimula R7 Plus AM 5W-20 is a fully synthetic low-ash oil from the Rimula line for the latest MAN Euro 6 truck engines and for Scania engines. Its low HTHS viscosity of 2.6 mPa·s is aimed at saving fuel.
The oil holds official approvals MAN M 3977 and Scania LDF-5; the data sheet gives no API or ACEA classes.
Typical figures: 8.2 mm²/s at 100 °C, 45 mm²/s at 40 °C, HTHS 2.6 mPa·s, pour point -40 °C, flash point 239 °C, density 845 kg/m³.
The oil is not backward compatible: it must not be used in older engines designed for more viscous oils.
Application
Latest MAN Euro 6 truck engines that require MAN M 3977, and Scania engines with the LDF-5 approval; not for older engines.
