Description

Castrol EDGE 0W-20 LL IV is a fully synthetic, low-SAPS oil in the EDGE range for current Volkswagen Group cars and other European makes, designed for extended drain intervals where the vehicle manufacturer permits them.

It is rated ACEA C5 and C6 and holds official VW 508.00, VW 509.00, BMW Longlife-17 FE+, MB 229.71, MB 229.72 and Porsche C20 approvals. It meets the requirements of Ford WSS-M2C956-A1 without formal approval.

Typical figures: 8 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 166, sulphated ash 0.74 %, pour point -45 °C.

VW 508.00 and 509.00 are not backward compatible: the oil must not be used in engines for which Volkswagen specifies an earlier LongLife standard.

Application

Volkswagen Group cars that require VW 508.00 or 509.00, and BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche models that need Longlife-17 FE+, MB 229.71, MB 229.72 or Porsche C20.
