Description

Motul 8100 POWER 5W-50 is a fully synthetic engine oil from the 8100 line, blended with esters in a formulation the maker derives from its motorsport oils. It is intended for tuned and powerful petrol and diesel car engines that run at high revs across a wide temperature range.

The oil is rated API SP; the data sheet lists no official car-maker approvals. It meets the requirements of Ford WSS-M2C931-D and Ford WSS-M2C931-E1 without official approval.

Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 17.9 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 187, HTHS 4.3 mPa·s, pour point -45 °C. Available in 1 to 60 litres.

It is designed for spirited driving and track days rather than for extended manufacturer service intervals.

Application

Tuned and highly uprated petrol and diesel cars run across a wide range of revs and temperatures, including occasional track days, where an API SP 5W-50 oil is acceptable for the engine.
