Description
Liqui Moly Molygen 5W-50 is a fully synthetic full-SAPS oil with the Molygen anti-friction additive for passenger-car petrol and diesel engines, including multi-valve and turbocharged units. It is also designed for extended drain intervals. This is a separate product, not Molygen New Generation 5W-50.
It holds no official approvals: the manufacturer gives recommendations only, namely ACEA A3/B3 and API SJ and the requirements of MB 229.1, VW 502.00 and VW 505.00.
Typical figures: viscosity 18.5 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 177, HTHS at least 3.7 mPa·s, NOACK 7.5 %, pour point -42 °C, sulphated ash 0.9-1.5 %. Pack sizes 1, 4 and 205 litres.
Application
Passenger-car petrol and diesel engines, including multi-valve and turbocharged units, also with extended drain intervals.
