Description

Motul MOTYLGEAR 80W-140 is a Technosynthese synthetic gear oil with extreme-pressure additives. It is intended for gearboxes, transfer boxes and hypoid axles without a limited-slip differential, where the SAE 90 oil specified by the manufacturer cannot cope with the loads, shocks or temperatures.

The oil meets API GL-4 and GL-5 and the military specification MIL-L-2105D; no car-maker approvals are listed.

As a heavy 140 grade, it has a kinematic viscosity of 40 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 192, pour point -27 °C and flash point 200 °C. It stays in grade after the 20-hour KRL shear test. Available in 20 litres.

It is not intended for limited-slip differentials.

Application

Heavily loaded gearboxes, transfer boxes and hypoid axles without a limited-slip differential, where the specified SAE 90 oil cannot cope with the loads, shocks or temperatures.
