Description

Motul NGEN 6 5W-30 is a synthetic, fuel-saving engine oil from the NGEN line, made partly from re-refined base oils and sold in a can of recycled plastic. It is intended for petrol engines, including those in hybrid cars.

It is rated ILSAC GF-6A, and Motul claims API SP as its performance level; this category includes protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI). No car-maker approvals are listed.

Typical figures: kinematic viscosity 10.8 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 163, HTHS 3.2 mPa·s, pour point -36 °C, base number 7.2 mg KOH/g, sulphated ash 0.72 %. Available in 1, 5 and 208 litres.

Application

Petrol engines, including those in hybrid cars, for which the manufacturer specifies an API SP and ILSAC GF-6A oil.
