Description

Shell Rimula R2 Extra 15W-40 is a multigrade Rimula engine oil for turbocharged and naturally aspirated diesel engines in normal service: earlier-generation Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses, farm tractors and other off-highway machinery.

The oil is rated API CG-4, CF-4 and CF and ACEA E2, and holds official MB 228.1, MAN 271 and Volvo VDS approvals.

Typical figures: 14.4 mm²/s at 100 °C, viscosity index 143, base number 8.2 mg KOH/g, pour point -33 °C. For modern low-emission engines Shell points to Rimula R3 or R4.

Application

Turbocharged and naturally aspirated truck diesels in normal service, especially earlier Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses, and off-highway machinery such as tractors.
