Description

Castrol EDGE 10W-60 is a fully synthetic oil in the EDGE range with high viscosity at operating temperature, intended for sports engines that run under heavy load and at high temperatures.

It is rated ACEA A3/B3 and A3/B4 and API SN and CF, and holds official BMW M-Models, VW 501.01 and VW 505.00 approvals.

Typical figures: 22.7 mm²/s at 100 °C, 160 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 173, sulphated ash 1.29 %, pour point -39 °C.

The oil is appropriate only where the vehicle manufacturer specifies a 10W-60 grade, notably in BMW M models.

Application

Sports and highly rated engines, above all BMW M models that specify a 10W-60 oil, as well as older-generation Volkswagen engines that require VW 501.01 or 505.00.
