Description

Castrol EDGE 5W-40 is a fully synthetic, mid-SAPS oil in the EDGE range for petrol and diesel car engines, including diesels with a particulate filter. The VW 505.01 approval covers diesel engines with unit injectors.

It is rated ACEA C3 and API SN and CF, and holds official MB 226.5, MB 229.31, MB 229.51, Opel OV0401547-D40, Porsche A40, Renault RN0700, Renault RN0710, VW 505.00 and VW 505.01 approvals. It meets the requirements of Fiat 9.55535-S2 and Ford WSS-M2C917-A without formal approval.

Typical figures: 14 mm²/s at 100 °C, 86 mm²/s at 40 °C, viscosity index 169, sulphated ash 0.8 %, pour point -45 °C.

Application
