FIAT ALBEA Before us is a five-seat, four-door C-class sedan — the Fiat Albea. A handsome car in Italian style, built around the idea of the legendary world car Fiat Palio. The car premiered in Warsaw in 2002. Since then it has held its place among the popular and celebrated models. The car is well and compactly designed, its looks make people dream of owning one. And price and quality come together harmoniously in this brand's engineering.

The car is 4186 mm long, 1703 mm wide and 1490 mm tall — a normal footprint for a car of this class. This model has been in production since 2006 and has already won plenty of fans. Given those dimensions, the boot volume is quite generous at 515 litres. The designers haven't forgotten safety either — now we can always rely on this car and trust it with our lives. The Fiat Albea is fitted with 2 airbags, plus an injury-mitigating steering column, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and a fire-prevention system (FPS). The car is engineered so that a person can hold on to the most precious thing of all in extreme conditions — their life, and that's no small advantage.

This car is worth buying for another reason too: the engineers took care not only of driver and passenger safety, but also of the car's power, comfortable driving, and cabin design. The Fiat Albea is fitted with an eight-valve, 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 77 horsepower, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Comfort on our, sadly, none-too-good roads is provided by an independent MacPherson-type front suspension and an independent multi-link rear. The front wheels have disc brakes, allowing smooth, gentle braking so the car doesn't "jerk," while the rear wheels get drum brakes. The driver will feel right at home, since the steering wheel has power assist and needs minimal effort to steer the car, and on top of that the steering column adjusts for tilt. The driver's seat adjusts for height, with adjustable lumbar support. Isn't that a dream for drivers who, because of their job, spend a lot of time behind the wheel? The car is designed for long-distance driving without leaving you feeling worn out. And of course, the car comes with the standard kit expected of a car in this class and segment: audio prep, a power-accessory package, air conditioning, an onboard computer.

The new pace of engineering and automotive technology is a pleasant surprise these days, and care for people is right up there too.
