The press office of OJSC LUKOIL has released information about possible fraudulent activity by a group of individuals who registered lukoilreservnefte.ru and have no connection whatsoever to LUKOIL. The site belongs to a company called LLC “LUKOIL-RESERVNEFTEPRODUCT” and was registered by a private individual for a 1-year term (the registration expires on 13 February 2011).

The fictitious company describes "its role in growing the state budget and its responsibility for developing many regions of Russia." According to the site, the company's office is located in an office centre in Moscow, at 12 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. Offices of major international corporations are based at that address, including the airlines Alitalia and Egypt Air, Abc Telecom, DHL, Hyundai Corporation, and others.

The press office believes that the "LUKOIL-RESERVNEFTEPRODUCT" resource, which is not listed in the Federal Tax Service register, was created to carry out fraudulent transactions. LUKOIL representatives are warning against any business dealings with the firm in question.
