Castrol has unveiled its new development — an updated lineup of Castrol EDGE synthetic oils. Thanks to the rollout of the innovative Fluid Strength Technology — a technology for a reinforced oil film — it's now possible to create products distinguished by high film stability and resistance to the engine's peak loads.

The concern's specialists identified the most problematic spot in the engine — the zone where the cam and the lifter make contact. That's exactly where the engine oil comes under the greatest pressure and grows more viscous, reducing the contact area between the metal parts.

The updated Castrol EDGE oils perform better because the intensity of interaction between the metal parts is sharply reduced by the strength of the film. As a result, the engine's energy goes mainly into actually moving the car, and friction losses are minimal.

Unlike the previous EDGE Professional update, aimed at professional service centres, the updated Castrol EDGE engine oils are already available to Russian drivers.
