LUKOIL has announced the results of testing for its LUKOIL Avantgarde 15W-40 engine oil. According to information published by the company's press office, the testing was carried out by two independent bodies: the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the research team at Daimler AG.

Laboratory research and testing proved that LUKOIL Avantgarde 15W-40 meets API requirements. The lubricant will now join the list of products to hold an official licence from the American Petroleum Institute — a trade association that oversees the US oil and gas industry across the board.

You can find the full list of API-licensed products on API's official website.

For their part, representatives of Daimler AG's expert panel confirmed that the engine oil meets the carmaker's technical requirements, updated in 2009, and confirmed its inclusion on the MB-Approval 228.3 list of lubricants (Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Operating Fluids). The approval is valid until March 2016.
