Gazpromneft's subsidiary, Gazpromneft Lubricants LLC, now has a good reason to take pride in its products. This time, though, it's not about engine oil quality but about the marketing side of things — design.
Back in the spring of 2010, the company launched its own-brand G-Energy engine oils onto the market. At the presentation in Turin, the product was unveiled in packaging by Italdesign-Giugiaro, an Italian industrial design firm.
On 18 January 2011, a notice appeared on the website of Gazpromneft Lubricants LLC stating that the jury of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design had awarded the Good Design™ prize for the design of the G-Energy canister.
The award was established in 1950, and this time the number of entrants was a record for all the years it has run. Companies from 48 countries around the world took part. The Good Design Show will be held in Chicago in June, at which G-Energy products will be presented among the other nominees.
