The technical partnership agreement between the British racing team McLaren and one of the leaders in oil refining, ExxonMobil, has been extended for another five years. The year now underway will be the seventeenth in this racing alliance's history.

Under the agreement, ExxonMobil will continue supplying the British racers with the latest generation of Mobil 1 engine oils, carry out performance testing of the lubricants provided, and give appropriate technical support at races.

Commenting on the news, McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said that ExxonMobil's products are the best the current lubricants market has to offer. Thanks to using Mobil 1 synthetic oil, McLaren's drivers are successfully holding off their rivals, improving their results from race to race.

The team principal also noted that Mobil 1's innovative engine oils boost engine reliability and longevity, allowing maximum performance to be extracted from them. This matters enormously for racing results, since the number of engines is fixed for each season.
