On 13 January 2011 representatives of the Ford group lifted the curtain of secrecy surrounding their new rally car, the Fiesta RS. Since the Ford team will be competing in the upcoming 2011 World Rally Championship largely thanks to its main sponsor, Castrol, the designers worked the Castrol EDGE logo into the racing car's livery.

This way, the new Ford Fiesta RS becomes an important part of British Petroleum's advertising campaign, whose subsidiary, Castrol, plans to actively promote its new line of improved Castrol EDGE engine oils. Demonstrating the capabilities of these lubricants on the toughest rally stages is a great way to convince the world of Castrol's edge.

The Ford Fiesta RS livery was unveiled in Birmingham, at the annual international motor show that traditionally opens the racing season. As part of unveiling the competing car, the team officially confirmed its logo and new name. In the 2011 World Rally Championship, the American team will compete under the name Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.

The Ford Fiesta RS premiere is scheduled for early in the second ten-day period of February: the car will take part in the first round of the "Rally Sweden" series. Test runs ahead of that round will take place on Swedish stages within just a few days.
